Choosing a mediator is often a very difficult decision and should be contoured to the needs of the disputants. However, in evaluating whether a MC3-Certified Mediator is right for you, you may consider using this checklist in comparing to other potential mediators. MC3-Certified Mediators:
- are certified by a neutral MC3 Board as meeting premier Qualifications and Requirements in the field for education, training, experience and professional development.
- agree to responsibly abide by recognized Ethical Standards and Rules of Court.
- agree to participate in a Quality Assurance Program that monitors and enforces maintenance of the standards, thereby allowing disputants to voice any concerns they may have about adherence to those ethical standards
- undergo a Background Check suitable for most employment situations.
