LOS ANGELES, Calif. (December 2, 2020) – MC3, the Gold Standard for Mediator Certification, and Mediate.com, the world’s leading mediation and dispute resolution website, have entered into an agreement whereby MC3 will recognize and support numerous educational programs and courses offered by Mediate.com.
MC3’s certification standard requires that all MC3-Certified Mediators receive mediation specific training in order to receive their certification. Additionally, there is a ongoing requirement for continuing education in the field of mediation that all MC3-Certified Mediators must meet. The newly announced agreement between MC3 and Mediate.com allows that courses offered by Mediate.com can satisfy both of these requirements.
Specifically, Mediate.com offers a 40-hour course in Basic Mediation Training that has been approved by MC3 and will count towards satisfying MC3’s mediation specific training requirement. Furthermore, Mediate University, the education branch of Mediate.com, offers numerous mediation related courses, all of which will satisfy the continuing education requirements that must be met, on an ongoing basis, by all MC3-Certified Mediators. Lastly the agreement between the organizations provides that there will be reciprocal linking between the MC3 and Mediate.com websites so that visitors to either site can easily be taken to the appropriate page on the other organization’s website.
The agreement, shared as a statement of mutual support between the two organizations, was announced jointly by Dr. Jack R. Goetz, President of MC3, Lynn Johnson, Executive Director of MC3 and by Colin Rule, President and CEO of Mediate.com.
“It is a great honor for MC3 to establish a closer association with Mediate.com and Mediate University,” said Goetz. “Their diverse course offerings touch upon many different aspects of our profession and we are pleased to recognize the quality of the mediation curriculum offered by Mediate.com.” Colin Rule, President and CEO of Mediate.com shared, “MC3 has established a rigorous standard for mediator certification that we applaud and that we believe is a model for our profession. Mediate University has established, and is continuing to add to, a broad array of mediation courses, essential to the education of mediating professionals and we are very proud that our many educational offerings will satisfy the MC3 standard.”
Last month, MC3 also announced an alliance with the Virginia Mediation Network (VMN) in which both organizations agreed to work cooperatively in support of the MC3 Certification Standards. This agreement also designates VMN as an Education Provider for their webinars that address continuing education in the field of mediation.
